i picked up ms. hempel chronicles knowing nothing about it other than that one of my dearest, most favorite writing professors from college wrote it. as it turns out, the novel is about a teacher; though seventh grade and not university students. even so, it was difficult not to draw parallels especially as her writing style is so reflective of her personality: expressive, bubbling over with enthusiasm, and thoughtful.

i can’t say enough good things about this book.
