fresh meat

last week i found myself in an unusual situation—my stack of books to read had dwindled down to one. it was a disaster. fresh reinforcements came from amazon.com this morning:

  • housekeeping by marilynne robinson. i’ve also read gilead and she just released a sequel to housekeeping called home.
  • kafka on the shore by murakami. LOVED sputnik sweeheart. i love that i can drop in casual conversation that the pulitzer prize winner junot diaz turned me on to murakami ;)
  • the time traveler’s wife by audrey niffenegger. have heard good things, but nothing plot specific. i like going into a book without expectations.
