when bad covers happen to good books -->
just got done reading this article and it rings true to me in two ways.
1. it sums up why i will never, ever bring myself to read books via an electronic device. i don’t care how many flashy features the kindle and the nook can offer (ability to note marginalia! lending! you can carry a billion books at a time!) no machine will ever be able to recreate the satisfying bliss of cradling a smooth, well-designed cover in your hands.
2. i have had the reverse happen to me, i have been tricked by visually appealing covers that wound up being the worst drivel i have ever read. that said, i choose my books carefully. if a book has been released seven different times i select the most appealing cover.
